private yoga
One to one yoga allows for a greater depth of understanding of the Hatha Yoga tradition and offers you the chance to experience a practice that is right for you on the day.
Vicky offers regular private tuition. Vicky also offers one off classes in the school holidays as there are openings at this time in her timetable.
Be prepared to follow certain customs to obtain the best from your instruction:
Turn your telephone on to immediate ring
- Turn off all appliances and standby buttons
- Have a blanket and box of tissues nearby
- Choose a room that is quiet and subdued
- Lay out your mat and bless both the mat and the room
These customs will help you to experience your home as a peaceful haven and they will enhance your instruction. They can also be followed when you do self-practice. The space occupied by your yoga mat and its immediate surroundings is akin to a sanctuary. It is a place that you have created to expand your mind and body. Most people choose to have their one to one yoga session in Vicky's lovely garden studio in Great Bookham, which is a tranquil setting and allows you to practice without distraction.
A lot can be achieved in an hour session one to one or in small groups and you will be amazed at your progress. It is also beneficial to attend yoga days, retreats or classes from time to time so that you also feel the magic of a larger class dynamic. However, one to one yoga is the ultimate restorative experience.
Vicky holds private individual yoga instruction at her home or in your own home (subject to area) at £65 per hour. Small groups at a venue of your choice (subject to area) from £65 per hour rising incremently with each student by £5. All prices excluding parking costs.
Good quality colourful yoga mats can be purchased from Vicky for £20.

Vicky only teaches a certain amount of classes per week so that she can be fresh for each class. Vicky teaches general yoga for beginners to advanced. Vicky also offers specialist private sessions for pregnancy and post-natal:
My private Monday night sessions became one of the favourite parts of my pregnancy. Vicky knew just how far to stretch me so that each class was energising as well as relaxing. Every week was different but always involved breathing, readings, and mantras. By the end of my pregnancy I felt relaxed and confident about the birth.
When I went into labour, I was able to spend most of the time at home, relaxing and breathing through contractions. I was only in hospital for two hours before I gave birth to my little girl, Esme, totally naturally. Without doubt, the preparation and yoga I had done with Vicky was really important in helping me cope.
Thanks Vicky for helping me have the pregnancy and birth I hoped for.
